Southern South Island Tour

Mountains, Glaciers, Lakes & Fiords.
Christchurch to Christchurch.

Day 1 - Pick up form Christchurch Airport and transfer to Accommodation at Sudima Hotel nearby.

Day 2 - Southern Alps. Travel from Christchurch to the West Coast through the Southern Alps over Porters and Arthurs Pass and onto the awesome Otira Viaduct with amazing vista's along the way, and out to Greymouth.

Day 3 - Franz Josef Glacier.  Today we travel down the coast through rural settlements known for Gold, Coal and Greenstone ( Jade ). The Southern Alps are in our view featuring our highest Mountains of  Cook and Tasman. Through Rain forests, over turquoise coloured rivers and onto Franz Josef township.

Day 4 - Franz Josef Glacier. Time today to take in the sights. Maybe a guided walk on the Glacier, A helicopter flight over the Franz Josef and onto the Glacier. A soak in the Hot Pools at the end of the day.

Day 5 - Haast. A short drive today from Franz Josef to Haast with stops on the way. Maybe take a walk on an isolated beach with only you and nature around.  Haast is one of the newest areas in New Zealand to be opened up to the outside world with the road built in the 1960's.

Day 6 - Queenstown.  Travel today takes along the Haast River , over Haast Pass and into the Lake region of Wanaka and Hawea, then onto Queenstown an the shores of Lake Wakatipu.

Day 7 - Queenstown. New Zealands Adventue Capital. Take a trip on a Jet Boat on the Shotover River, A bungy jump, A day Trip on the Dart River or a quiet ride across the lake on the Vintage Steam Ship Earnslaw to Walter Peak Station (a working sheep & cattle farm) with a BBQ lunch.

Day 8 -  Te Anau.  Drive from Queenstown to Te Anau travelling south along side the Lake Wakatipu into Sheep and Deer farming Country. Te Anau is the Gateway to Fiordland with the option of taking a Day Trip to either Milford or Doubtful Sounds. Beautiful lake side vistas of the Mountians and Lake Te Anau are just  a short stroll away.

Day 9 - Te Anau. Time to take either option of the Milford or Doubtful Sound Day Trips.

Day 10 - Mount Cook. Travel today takes you out of Te Anau from Fiordland into the High Country of the MacKenzie with open plateaus of tussock grass, emerald lakes and snow clad Mountains to Mount Cook Village at the foot of Mount Cook and the Tasman Valley.

Day 11 - Mount Cook.  Beautiful Vistas, Short walk on the trials. A Boat trip onto the Tasman Glacier Lake amongst the ice bergs that break off the Tasman Glacier.

Day 12 - Christchurch. The drive takes you back to Christchurch passing firstly Lake Tekapo famous for The Church of The Good Shepard on the lakeshore. Over Burkes Pass and out to the Canterbury Plains through mixed farmlands to Christchurch.

Day 13 - Christchurch. Time to take in some of City sights before your Transfer to Christchurch Airport for your return flight home.
